Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander recently launched his YouTube channel and posted his second video this week with a look at his life off the ice.

Nylander began the vlog by attending a private YouTube launch event hosted by Google, where he met content creator Ryan Trahan who gave him advice on video creation and interviewed him on stage. Following the event, Nylander dined at N.L. Ginzburg, a Toronto restaurant, before visiting Holt Renfrew’s ON3 Men’s Space to shop for seasonal apparel.

During a segment trying on glasses, Nylander commented on a pair he donned at the store:

“Yeah, I thought they were pretty cool, but ever since that Jeffrey Dahmer show… These remind me a little bit of it, but I forget what shade he had. These were the first glasses I tried.”

The salesperson jokingly reassured him, saying:

“You don’t look like Jeffrey, don’t worry. I promise. No one would mistake you. This is like such a vibe.”

The Dahmer reference in the glasses segment connects to the 2022 Netflix series Dahmer Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story which dramatizes the crimes of the infamous serial killer and examines systemic failures that allowed him to evade detection for years. The titular role was played by Hollywood actor Evan Peters.

Nylander concluded the day with a golf match at the Avalon Club teaming with Oliver Ekman-Larsson against his brother Alex Nylander and Calle Järnkrok. The match was competitive with Nylander finishing one stroke behind the winning team.

Throughout the video, Nylander also discussed his offseason training which included lifting, skating and recreational golf, as well as his approach to starting a YouTube channel.

William Nylander took a trip to Europe in the offseason

Earlier this offseason, William Nylander took part in a series of high-profile events in Europe. Nylander was part of the NHL/NHLPA European Player Media Tour in Milan where he visited key city locations as part of a Content Collaboration Partnership with Italy’s Serie A league.

During the trip, Nylander shared glimpses of Milan on Instagram with a carousel that featured some of the city’s cultural landmarks and his experience at the Serie A season opener.

“Milan,” he captioned the post.

Photos included him walking through a quiet courtyard, exploring the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and stopping outside the Prada storefront. He also captured a scenic shot of medieval ruins, street art painted in Italy’s national colors and an indoor view from the Duomo cathedral’s towering arches.

Nylander was present for AC Milan’s home opener at San Siro where he was photographed laughing with star player Rafael Leao and walking through the red-lit VIP area.

Earlier this summer, Nylander attended the 2025 Sport Beach event at the Cannes Lions Festival from June 16 to 19. Nylander later shared pictures alongside former NHLer Kevin Shattenkirk and NBA Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony.
