Gavin McKenna just put together one of the most potent hockey games possible.
The potential No. 1 pick in the 2026 NHL Draft is playing his (likely) lone season at Penn State, and on Friday night, he skated circles around Ohio State.
The Nittany Lions won 11-4, notable enough.
More notable: McKenna had eight points.
He scored one goal and finished with an absurd seven assists.

— Barstool Penn State (@PSUBarstool) February 21, 2026McKenna made the relatively unusual choice to leave juniors and come play a year of NCAA hockey before the draft.
He's been impactful all season, but his level has really taken even another step forward since returning from World Juniors.
Specifically in McKenna's last 10 NCAA games, he has 21 points -- 8 goals and 13 assists.
Certainly, it helps to get eight points in one game.
He may never have another eight-point game in his life, or he may have another the next time on the ice.
But clearly, someone with that capability will warrant a lot of NHL attention.
McKenna deserves every bit of the hype.
