Players to win two FedEx Cup titles: Scottie Scheffler joins incredibly short list of legends

On a day when most golfers struggled to go low, Scottie Scheffler pulled away from the pack for another TOUR Championship.

The No. 1 golfer in the world shot a 65 at East Lake, taking home the TOUR Championship by two strokes as he held off Viktor Hovland. This marks Scheffler's second TOUR Championship in three years, putting him in elite company in golf history.

Scheffler had a strange year, as he was still dominant despite failing to win a major for the first time since 2023. After winning the first tournament of the year, he didn't win again until the FedEx Cup playoffs but came out victorious twice in the last three weeks.

Scheffler becomes the third player to win multiple FedEx Cup titles, joining Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy in that feat. The PGA Tour first introduced the FedEx Cup in 2007, so there have only been 20 iterations of the event.

Nonetheless, Woods, McIlroy and Scheffler can say they combined to win seven of those 20 events, with 13 players each winning once in that span. While McIlroy is the only one of the three to win the FedEx Cup three times, Scheffler will have a chance to tie McIlroy next season.

Scottie Scheffler PGA Tour wins

Scheffler has now won 22 events on the PGA Tour, including twice in the last three weeks, to ensure his spot in the tour's history. That includes two wins at the TOUR Championship and four win in FedEx Cup events, all four of which came in the last three years.

Scheffler has now earned over $130 million on the PGA Tour, passing Tiger Woods for the most ever by a golfer on the tour. Scheffler needed just over $600,000 to pass Woods, but his win earned him another $10 million to cruise into first place.
