Pittsburgh Steelers tabbed as logical landing spot for Pro Bowl playmaker

The onset of training camp for the Pittsburgh Steelers is rapidly approaching. 

But, there's still time for the team to add another major weapon for veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers before the start of the season. 

Steelers named logical landing spot for Deebo Samuel 

The Steelers were recently named as a logical landing spot for playmaker Deebo Samuel in free agency by Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report. Samuel spent the 2025 campaign with the Washington Commanders after spending the first six seasons of his career as a member of the San Francisco 49ers.

Though not as explosive as he once was, Samuel, 30, is still a productive player and could add a spark to Pittsburgh's offense, which was often stagnant last season. 

"Samuel logged 802 scrimmage yards while averaging nine yards per touch this past season with the Washington Commanders. He did it while playing much of the season without standout quarterback Jayden Daniels in a Commanders offense that ranked just 24th in passing and 22nd overall," Knox wrote. 

"Though he's never been a true No. 1 receiver, Samuel has been consistently productive when healthy. Even at 30, he can still be a quality contributor as a receiver and change-of-pace backfield option. ... Samuel would make the most sense for a potential playoff contender that needs receiver depth and is looking to lead with its ground game." 

The Steelers already upgraded their receiving corps in a big way this offseason by trading for Michael Pittman Jr. from the Indianapolis Colts, but there's really no such thing as having too many weapons on offense, especially for a veteran team aiming to make a deep playoff run. 

So, perhaps they'll take Knox's advice and look into adding Samuel to the mix.
