Pittsburgh Steelers players share reactions to George Pickens trade on social media

The Pittsburgh Steelers made quite the controversial trade on Wednesday morning, with the team trading wide receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys.

Anyone who was dealing with reality knew this was possible. However, that doesn't change the fact that the trade is still somewhat hard to fathom considering how bad off the Steelers are at wide receiver after finally adding an upgrade in DK Metcalf.

Based on social media reactions, we know Steelers fans are upset over the deal, but what do Pittsburgh's players think? Well, we have some early reactions from a few youngsters on the Steelers' roster.

Those two players are edge rusher Nick Herbig and wide receiver Calvin Austin, who took to social media to share their reactions to the early-morning trade.

Meanwhile, Austin didn't actually write any words, but the emoji he used says it all about how he feels about Pickens being gone.

Austin's reaction closely aligns with most Steelers fans.

Granted, Pickens' antics had grown old and we knew he wasn't going to be around for the long haul, but for a Steelers team going for it in 2025, it's was definitely a head-scratching and frustrating trade, as Pickens will be impossible to replace.

And that concern isn't even the biggest one on the minds of Steelers fans. The team has yet to lock down a starting quarterback for 2025, and it's already May.

If the Steelers trade Pickens and don't land Aaron Rodgers in the same offseason, it's going to get really ugly in Pittsburgh.
