The New York Giants quarterback room will have quite the mixture of personalities.
After adding Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency, New York then made the big decision to trade back into the first round of the draft in order to select Ole Miss star Jaxson Dart.
Given that Tommy DeVito is also back for another season, it's a crowded quarterback room.
It's unclear whether the Giants will carry four quarterbacks on the active roster. It wouldn't be a surprise if they kept three, but there's a scenario where all four make the roster.
With that said, Winston could be a potential trade chip after the former No. 1 overall pick was listed as an "honorable mention" in an article written by Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report.
The Giants have a long way to go before making the decision at quarterback, and it could simply come down to the recent history of injuries that have plagued the position.
If the Giants don't pursue a trade down the road involving Winston, they could try to sneak DeVito onto the practice squad. However, they would run the risk of losing him to another team on the waiver wire.
Winston signed a two-year deal worth $8 million this offseason, but the contract has incentives that can push the total value of the deal up to $16 million.
With Wilson as the starter and Dart clearly the future prospect, this scenario could be something to keep an eye on down the road.
