Carlos Alcaraz's new tattoo, a tribute to his second US Open victory, has been the talk of the town on social media lately. After three years, he won his second US Open title this year in New York. He locked horns with his on-court rival, Jannik Sinner, on September 8 at the Arthur Ashe Stadium and claimed the title with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 win.
Alcaraz won his first-ever Grand Slam title and his maiden US Open title on September 11, 2022. He met Casper Ruud in the final round, produced a dominant performance, and won 6-4, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3.
These wins are special for the World No. 1, which is clear from the tattoos on his arm. He already had the date of his first US Open win tattooed on his arm. Tributing his 2025 US Open win, he got a tattoo of the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge just above his older one.
The pictures were shared on social media, featuring him posing with the tattoo and moments of him getting inked. The post's caption read:
""11.09.22" the date of the first grand slam in nyc now next to Carlos Alcaraz's new tattoo."Alcaraz had an incredible run in the 2025 season, as he won eight titles, including two Grand Slams. He recently announced a major change as he parted ways with his longtime coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero.
Carlos Alcaraz opened up about splitting with his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero
Carlos Alcaraz started his partnership with Juan Carlos Ferrero when he was just 15 years old. After a seven-year journey, the Spaniard parted ways with him for unknown reasons. He announced the split on his Instagram handle by posting pictures with Ferrero and penned a heartfelt note in the caption.
Expressing gratitude for his guidance and thanking him for making his childhood dreams come true, Alcaraz wrote:
"It's very difficult for me to write this post… After more than seven years together, Juanki and I have decided to end our time together as coach and player. Thank you for turning my childhood dreams into reality. We started this journey when I was just a kid, and throughout this time you've accompanied me on an incredible trip, both on and off the court. And I've thoroughly enjoyed every step of it with you."He added:
"We reached the top, and I feel that if our sporting paths had to diverge, it should be from up there. From the place we always worked towards and always aspired to reach. So many memories are flooding back that choosing just one wouldn't be fair. You've helped me grow as an athlete, but above all, as a person."Carlos Alcaraz opened his season at the 2025 Australian Open. He reached the quarterfinal, where he contested against Novak Djokovic, who dominated the round and advanced to the semifinals.
