Ahead of Monday night's matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans, the New York Knicks announced that shooting guard Miles McBride is probable to play. His injury status for the game was originally listed as questionable.
McBride missed the previous nine games after suffering a sprained left ankle on December 7 at Madison Square Garden against the Orlando Magic. The 25-year-old averaged 11.6 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per night while shooting 44% from three in 20 games before the ankle injury.
He quickly became the Knicks' best three-point shooter off the bench, hitting seven threes in 10 attempts against the Utah Jazz on Dec. 5.
Breakout guard may sit out against New Orleans
McBride's return to the rotation is music to head coach Mike Brown's ears, but the Knicks may be without one of the NBA's breakout players this year.
Tyler Kolek is dealing with right ankle soreness and is questionable to play in Monday's game, per a report from Tommy Beer on X.
If Kolek is out, Jordan Clarkson and Kevin McCullar Jr. could see extended playing time in the backcourt. McCullar had the best performance of his young career on Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks, scoring 13 points and grabbing eight rebounds.
