Days after his shocking split with coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, Carlos Alcaraz unveiled a new tattoo in honor of his 2025 US Open triumph on Sunday, December 21. The Spanish tennis player inked a tattoo of the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge on his left arm to celebrate his second Grand Slam win in New York.
Carlos Alcaraz won his first major in New York in 2022 and finished the 2025 season with his sixth Grand Slam in the same city. As a top-seed, he defeated four-time US Open winner Novak Djokovic in the semifinals and overcame the defending champion Jannik Sinner in the final in August this year. Alcaraz finished the season with eight singles titles, including two majors, to claim the Year-End No. 1 trophy.
Carlos Alcaraz is set to enter the 2026 season with the memories from his 2025 US Open victory. He shared a few pictures of getting inked and training at his family-owned academy in Murcia on Instagram on Sunday, December 21.
His new tattoo is a mixture of the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge, which represent freedom, home, and ambition.
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old played two exhibition events in New Jersey and Miami earlier this month and is currently training for the upcoming 2026 season in his hometown of Murcia.
Carlos Alcaraz's love for tattoos
Carlos Alcaraz's love for tattoos is no secret, as he has inked several of them to commemorate special milestones. After winning his first major at the 2022 US Open, he inked the date near his right elbow. He also added the letters "CCC" to honor his grandfather's motto, "Cabeza, Corazón, Cojones," which translates to "Head, Heart, B***s" in Spanish.
The six-time Grand Slam winner inked his next tattoo after his first Wimbledon title in 2023. He chose the date and strawberry on his right ankle to honor the tradition of the All England Club in London. He got his third tattoo, an iconic Eiffel Tower, and the date of his victory etched on his ankle, following his maiden French Open title in 2024.
After defending his Wimbledon title in 2024, Alcaraz revealed his desire to ink more body art with his future Grand Slam titles. After his early exit at the Australian Open this year, he promised to ink a kangaroo on his first Grand Slam title in Melbourne.
“It’s gonna be a kangaroo. That’s my idea,” Alcaraz said (via tennis.com). "The only thing that I miss is to lift the trophy here.”Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz will become the first player to achieve a career Grand Slam since Novak Djokovic in 2016, if he wins the 2026 Australian Open next month.
