The Philadelphia Phillies are taking a low-risk chance on a free agent pitcher.
Their new signing on Tuesday is right-hander Levi Stoudt, according to 7News Boston's Ari Alexander.
Stoudt was most recently a member of the Baltimore Orioles' organization.
He's a 28-year old, 6-foot-1 righty who was a third-round pick by the Seattle Mariners in 2019.
He underwent Tommy John surgery early in his career, which slowed his development.
Stoudt was traded in 2022 from the Mariners to the Reds in the Luis Castillo trade.

He made his MLB debut in 2023 with 10.1 innings but gave up 11 runs.
The Mariners took him back in 2024 with a waiver claim, then waived him themselves, and the Orioles claimed him.
Across the last two seasons, Stoudt has a 5.83 ERA at the minor league level.
He's never quite struck out enough guys, and he's always walked a few too many guys.
Obviously, that's not an ideal combination.
At various points of his career, though, Stoudt has had believers, and the Phillies are the latest to give him a chance.
He's almost certain to begin the year at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, but it's a contract and an opportunity to keep his baseball career alive, and Stoudt will try to do just that while seeing if he can get another call-up to the majors.
