The Philadelphia Phillies are entering a big season in 2026. While the team is still in good shape, there are a lot of looming contract decisions awaiting them in the near future, especially after 2027.
To counteract the loss of a lot of players in free agency, the Phillies will need to get the most out of their prospects. Fortunately, they have a few interesting names, including Justin Crawford, Aidan Miller, and Andrew Painter.
For ESPN's Kiley McDaniel, their farm system for 2026 is very close to what it looked like in 2025. But, there are some changes, as there's a $9 million difference, Crawford is set to make his debut, and the other top prospects have switched places.
Phillies get $9M farm system update from ESPN
McDaniel shares that the Phillies farm system this season is ranked 17th, with an evaluation of $179 million. Compared to last year, they were ranked 17th, but had a slightly better evaluation at $188 million.
That's a very minor difference, but there is some reason behind the change. The evaluation of Miller, Painter, and Crawford, among others, has changed, and with Eduardo Tait and Mick Abel both traded to the Minnesota Twins, their depth isn't as good.
The Phillies farm system is ranked the same as it was a year ago, but the big difference is that Miller, their infield prospect, is ranked inside the top-10 by McDaniel.
Add on a slight fall for Painter, and the changing evaluation despite not much change isn't a major surprise. And once Crawford makes his MLB debut this season, this ranking might take a bit of a hit.

There are a few other prospects worth noting. Dante Nori, an outfielder who has some interesting tools, and Gage Wood, a first-round pick from 2025 who excelled in college, are some of the more interesting prospects to keep an eye on.
Gabriel Rincones Jr. is an outfield prospect who could also make his debut like Crawford this season, while Aroon Escobar is a fascinating power-hitting infielder who could be in the team's plans to replace someone like Bryson Stott or Alec Bohm.
The Phillies farm system is not in a bad spot, nor is it in a great spot. Ranked 17th is right around the middle of the pack. Miller, Crawford, and Painter are some of the most interesting prospects in baseball, all of whom could make their debut this season.
