Phillies ace Walker Buehler showcases epic hunting adventure with his nephew using a brand-new Benelli USA rifle

After a tough year on the mound, Walker Buehler took a day to enjoy the offseason to its fullest. The Philadelphia Phillies pitcher, who is heading into free agency this year, took a leisurely hunting trip with his family during their Kentucky getaway.

Buehler flaunted his new Benelli USA rifle on Instagram on Saturday. The two-time All-Star pitcher posted a close-up video of the guerilla-skinned rifle, custom-made by Rob Roberts Gun Works, lying on the buck. His brother-in-law, Brent Marcinek's son, posed with the buck in the second slide.

"Honestly one of the cooler days I’ve had in a long time. My nephews first buck on our land with my new @robrobertscustomgunworks @benelli_usa rifle," Buehler wrote.

As described by Buehler himself, the day out must have felt like a relief after the 31-year-old felt the heat for most of the season. Buehler, on the back of a successful 2024 postseason with the Dodgers, signed a one-year $21.05 million contract with the Boston Red Sox.

A string of poor starts led to his demotion to the minors by the Red Sox, who eventually let him go. The Philadelphia Phillies signed him to a minor-league deal, and he turned out to be a handy addition in September. He didn't feature in the postseason as the Phillies were defeated by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Division Series in four games.

With a 10-7 record and 4.93 ERA in 2025, Buehler might not be able to receive a contract from the big-market clubs. He will have to settle for a short-term deal and try to regain his market value. Teams such as the Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals, etc., have been linked to him so far in the offseason.

Walker Buehler's wife, McKenzie, posted a story on her Instagram on Saturday, featuring their daughter Finley on their flight back from Kentucky to Arizona. The one-year-old could be seen clinking her glass with her two parents and their flasks in excitement.

Walker Buehler and his wife welcomed Finley in February of last year. The couple have been dating since their eighth-grade year and tied the knot in December 2021 after more than 11 years of being together.
