Palm of the Dreamer is one of the best items in Path of Exile 2 if you’re building around Chaos. I’d love to say it’s due to one of its affixes, but there are multiple that take your damage and survivability to the next level. Not only does the weapon add a chunk of Chaos damage to the build, but it also grants you resistance against it, which is necessary across high-tier maps.
However, you cannot get this item through regular methods as it cannot be chance, nor can it drop from any bosses in the game. Here’s everything you need to know about getting Palm of the Dreamer in Path of Exile 2.
How to farm Palm of the Dreamer in Path of Exile 2
Use Vaal Orb on an uncorrupted Guiding Palm scepter (Image via GGG)To get Palm of the Dreamer, you’ll need to farm one of the Guiding Palm sceptres. These include the Guiding Palm of the Heart, Guiding Palm of the Eye, and Guiding Palm of the Mind. When corrupted using a Vaal Orb, each of them has a chance to transform into Palm of the Dreamer.
While you can’t ‘chance’ Palm of the Dreamer, you can do so to get one of the Guiding Palm sceptres. To do so, grab some of the normal rarity shrine scepters off the ground or purchase them from the PoE2 market. They are very cheap, and the only thing you’ll spend currency on is Orb of Chance.
Buying Palm of the Dreamer can get expensive (Image via GGG)Do note that there is only a 0.3% chance of a shrine scepter turning into Guiding Palm. It means you may need to spend over 300 Orb of Chance. Alternatively, you can purchase an uncorrupted Guiding Palm scepter for around 14 Orb or Annulment.
Before using the Vaal Orb, activate Omen of Corruption to force a change. Although it still does not guarantee you a Palm of the Dreamer. The next best and the only other way to get one is to purchase it from the in-game market in Path of Exile 2. At the time of writing, the item costs over 100 Divine Orbs.
Why is Palm of the Dreamer popular in Path of Exile 2
Palm of the Dreamer is a great mobbing unique (Image via GGG)If something costs over 100 Divines, it must have some good use in the game. For Palm of the Dreamer, it’s three of its affixes. The weapon grants you a persistent skill, Impurity, that increases Chaos resistance, up to 30%. It’s very useful in the endgame, and this scepter is the only way to get the skill.
In addition to that, you also gain 27% of damage as extra Chaos damage along with the permanent effect of the Dreaming Gloom Shrine. While active, the enemies you kill will explode, dealing a quarter of their life as Chaos damage in an AoE, which is great for mobbing.
