Palworld Home Sweet Home update added a new Raid boss, Hartalis, for you to conquer. It’s a Legendary Deer with a multi-phased fight that’s like nothing you’ve seen before. Being the latest addition to the Raid boss encounter, the game expects you to go with the best equipment, or else you may find yourself running across the arena for most of the fight.
Much like the other encounters, you can either challenge Hartalis solo or alongside friends. Here’s a complete guide on how to summon and defeat Hartalis in Palworld, including the boss mechanics you may face during the fight.
How to summon Hartalis in Palworld
Hartalis Slab Fragment inside Sakurajima dungeon (Image via Pocketpair)Summoning Hartalis is similar to any other Raid boss summon mechanics in Palworld. You’ll need to craft the newly added Hartalis Slab and use it at the Summoning Altar. However, to craft one, you’ll need four Hartalis Slab Fragments. Here are all the ways you can get them:
- Sakurajima Dungeon
- Feybreak Dungeon
- Expedition Sakurajima
- Expedition Feybreak
- Enemy Camp Sakurajima
An efficient way to farm Hartalis Slab Fragments is to send out Expeditions before you go exploring the dungeons. While the drops are RNG-based, you should get a few fragments much quickly this way.
Hartalis raid mechanics in Palworld
Use the console to summon Pals for a fight (Image via Pocketpair)Once you’re ready, use the Hartalis Slab to summon the boss. Before that, the game will ask you where you want to fight. Palworld patch 0.7 added the feature to fight the boss in an arena to prevent damage to your base.
Before you jump in, here are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind.
- Bring the best Pals you have, as some of the attacks can easily incapacitate your Pals in a single hit.
- Bring as many Pal Recovery Grenades as you can if you’re fighting the boss for the first time. Use them frequently during the fight.
- Use a Boost gun if possible to increase damage dealt by your Pals.
- Hartalis will switch elements between Grass and Water to Neutral during the fight.
If you choose to enter the arena, there will be an option to add Pals to assist you during the fight. We recommend taking Electric Pals to deal good damage during the first phase. With that said, here are all the attacks you may face during the boss fight.
Phase 1 Attacks
Geyser attack
The boss can do any of the three attacks (Image via Pocketpair)As the name suggests, Hartalis will shoot a water geyser from the ground. There are three types: the first is from random spots, the second is in a straight line, and the third is a giant whirlpool.
Cross slash attack
Stay in the middle of the slashes (Image via Pocketpair)Hartalis will charge two green projectiles and fire them in a cross pattern. Stay in the middle to dodge this attack.
Beam attack
An actual laser beam attack (Image via Pocketpair)The boss will charge a beam over its head and shoot it in your direction. Keep moving sideways to avoid the attack.
Root attack
Watch out for rising dirt from the ground (Image via Pocketpair)During the fight, the boss will occasionally stomp the ground to grow roots that deal damage. If you see the ground shake, roll out of the way.
Shield attack
The shield's elements can change (Image via Pocketpair)After you deal damage to the boss, it will periodically form a shield around itself. The game will ask you to use a specific type of damage to break the shield faster, but you can use what’s at hand. Break it to stun the boss; otherwise, it will create a massive AoE explosion.
Health Regen
Hartalis will regen all of its health for Phase 2 (Image via Pocketpair)If you think bringing the HP down to 0 was enough, then you’re in for a surprise. After reaching 1 HP, the boss will regen all of its health to start Phase 2 of the fight.
Phase 2 Attacks
Multi-slash attack
Squeez through the gap or fly away (Image via Pocketpair)Similar to the Cross slash, the Hartalis will send out another set of slashing projectiles, this time in a straight line. Use the game between them to dodge.
Orb attack
The glittering orb will track you for some distance (Image via Pocketpair)Hartalis will charge a glittering orb on its head that travels slowly towards you and breaks into smaller projectiles. Keep moving to outrun its timer.
Fireball attack
Fireball will not track you (Image via Pocketpair)Same as the Orb attack, Hartalis charges a flaming orb on its head and hurls it towards you. This one is much faster, but does not follow you or break into smaller projectiles.
Laser attack
Steer clear of the blue zone (Image via Pocketpair)This attack is similar to the Root attack, but instead of roots, it uses lasers. The boss will mark a blue zone that will shoot laser beams. Move away from the blue AoE to dodge the attack.
Dive attack
Tuck and roll sideways (Image via Pocketpair)Hartalis will jump in the air and dive towards you using some spectral wings. Roll sideways to avoid the attack, but note that it has a big AoE, so the chances of getting hit are a lot higher.
Ground beam attack
Stay away from golden light (Image via Pocketpair)Another laser-type attack, but with a much bigger and stronger AoE. The boss will mark the area with golden light, which will erupt into golden lasers.
Last Stand
The dropping orb marks the explosion countdown (Image via Pocketpair)After reaching 1 HP another time, the boss will charge a super attack that will wipe anything in its AoE. We recommend moving away from the blast zone.
Palworld Hartalis raid rewards
You get the Ultra Slab after defeating the boss on normal (Image via Pocketpair)Now that you’ve bested Hartalis, it’s time to collect your rewards. Here are some of the drops you can get by defeating the new Raid boss in Palworld.

- Hartalis Slab (Ultra)
- Life Lotus
- Life Fruit
- Power Fruit
