Minecraft recently won an award at the Golden Joystick Awards 2025. As the end of the year approaches, several video game award ceremonies are being held, in which popular and groundbreaking titles are celebrated and rewarded. At the Golden Joystick Awards, Mojang's title won in the category of "Still Playing Game". To accept this award, the Studio's lead designer, Jens "jeb" Bergensten, arrived in person and gave a speech.

Minecraft wins in the Still Playing category at Golden Joystick Awards 2025
The Golden Joystick Awards 2025 were held on November 20, 2025, at Northumberland Avenue in Central London. After a few hours, the category of Still Playing Award (PC and Console) was announced, in which the nominees were:
- Minecraft
- Dead by Daylight
- Helldivers 2
- NARAKA: BLADEPOINT
- Satisfactory
- Call of Duty: Warzone
- Marvel Rivals
- Fortnite
- Apex Legends
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege X
- GTA Online
- Warframe
After all the nominees were announced, the host of the event, Maggie Robertson, announced that Mojang's title won the award. There was a massive cheer from the crowd as Jens Bergensten stood from the audience and went to the stage to collect the award.
After speaking a few words in Swedish, he switched to English and thanked the community for constantly playing the game and making new content for it. He also thanked Mojang's developers for keeping the game relevant as well.

"Minecraft won its first Golden Joystick award in 2011, and since then, well over a decade, the teams have been working really hard to continue working on Minecraft and expanding it. But, of course, what truly is expands Minecraft are our players, our creators, modders, recently filmmakers as well, most of all our players. This is not the first time Mojang's title has won the Still Playing Award at The Golden Joystick Awards. The game won in the same category in 2024, 2020, and 2019.
Apart from these awards, the game also won Download Game of the Year at the ceremony in 2011 and 2012. It also won the Best Game Community award in 2020.
Like so, Minecraft has its fair share of awards, not only in the Golden Joystick Awards but in various other award ceremonies as well.
