The San Diego Padres completed their four-game sweep against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday and have won five straight, including a win against the Pittsburgh Pirates (8-2) on April 8. Despite winning five in a row, the Padres lost right-hander Nick Pivetta in Sunday’s outing due to “right elbow stiffness.”
The 33-year-old right-hander appeared to be in good spirits after the game, but didn't give much information on his health status.

Pivetta was short with reporters after the game when they asked about the status of his elbow, saying to “Foul Territory’s” Marty Caswell, “I'm not going to get too much into it, I just didn't feel great today.”
Pivetta added when asked again about his elbow: “I think it's too early to tell for me, you know, I just tried to go out there, do the best I can get as deep as in a baseball game as possibly could. Honestly, I didn't feel good. It came out of the game. But as I said, the bullpen picked me up. The team did a great job. A lot of home runs, a lot of great plays. Was able to get a really good sweep and build some good momentum.”

The bullpen did a solid job covering in place of the injured Pivetta, throwing six innings, allowing two hits, two earned runs (left-hander Kyle Hart), with eight strikeouts and two walks. The offense went 10-25, scoring seven runs, hitting three home runs, drawing six walks, and striking out twice.
It is unclear how long or when he'll be back, but the Padres do have depth in the minor leagues to endure his injury. Pivetta threw three no-hit innings with no walks and four strikeouts on 46 pitches (28 strikes).
