Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning clarifies changes he would make to College Football Playoff

The Oregon Ducks are one of two remaining Big Ten teams left in the College Football Playoff this postseason.

A 23-0 win against the Texas Tech Red Raiders Thursday sees them advance to the Peach Bowl against the Indiana Hoosiers next Friday with a possibility of a national title berth at their disposal in under three weeks should they keep winning.

As much as coach Dan Lanning was jubilant by the fact his team, which missed out on consecutive Big Ten title berths last month, can still play, he told reporters in Miami, Fla., following the game that the CFP format should still undergo needed adjustments.

“It’s not the same bowl experience anymore when you’re talking about the Playoff," Lanning said. "Our guys didn’t leave the hotel, they had the mindset that we’ll celebrate when this thing’s all over with, and they were really focused."

The Ducks' focus, though, could serve as a hinderance as Lanning suggests bowl games are treated differently than say a decade ago.
