CHICAGO — Liberty forward Kennedy Burke didn’t know she was breaking a WNBA record Thursday when she fired up a 3 in the fourth quarter.
She was just doing her job.
“I got the ball and I just shot it because I was wide open,” Burke said after the Liberty’s 99-74 win over the Sky. “That’s my role on the team, just to shoot when I’m open and to make big plays.”
It was Burke’s fourth 3 of the game and the Liberty’s 19th overall, surpassing the franchise and league’s previous record for most team treys in a game (18).
