The second day of the women's figure skating singles finals will take place on Thursday, February 19.
As with the men's singles finals, the women's are formatted the same way. They competed in the short program on Tuesday and received their scores. The scores carry over to Thursday's finale and will be combined with the free skate score to determine final rankings.
A skater could have won the short program, and a different skater could have won the free skate, and neither could have ended up winning the gold medal. All that matters is the total combined scores from both parts of the finale.
Japan's Ami Nakai put up the top score in the short program with a 78.71. She was followed by teammate Kaori Sakamoto (77.23) and United States figure skater Alysa Liu (76.59). Notable Team USA figure skater Amber Glenn is currently in 12th place with a 67.39 from the short program, and will have to knock her free skate routine out of the park to make up some much-needed ground in the finale.
The Sporting News is tracking live scores and highlights for the Olympic women's figure skating final on Thursday. Follow below for complete results from Alysa Liu, Amber Glenn, Isabeau Levito and more.
