Olivia Dunne recently reacted to boyfriend Paul Skenes teaming up with Raising Cane’s to generate a grand donation for veterans. The Pittsburgh Pirates' pitcher was present at The Mothership – Raising Cane’s first restaurant in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, to hand out Box combos on the counter and the drive-thru to the veterans.
As the pitcher joined hands with Raising Cane’s, he raised $500,000 for the Gary Sinise Foundation, a nonprofit organization started by the actor and humanitarian Gary Sinise, which supports American veterans, first responders, and their families. The partnership was proposed by Skenes himself, who decided to donate $100 to the Gary Sinise Foundation for every strikeout he recorded throughout the season, totaling 216. After successfully raising the funds, he spoke about the partnership, saying:
"The Gary Sinise Foundation is a great foundation to partner with because it's gonna be used very directly to help veterans, whatever it looks like, building houses, putting on events for veterans and their kids, fallen soldiers, airmen, whoever it is."As Raising Cane's shared the video of Skenes' duty on Instagram, his girlfriend, Dunne couldn't stop gushing and commented on the video, writing:
"Dreamy."The 2024 NL Rookie of the Year is a former Air Force cadet who kicked off his collegiate career while pitching at the Air Force Academy and has been a long-time supporter of the foundation. Skenes stepped up to serve the veterans after winning the 2025 National League Cy Young award on Wednesday.
