Oklahoma State receives commitment from top Arkansas high school lineman

One of the top high school football players in Arkansas has made his decision as far as picking a college.

Danny Beale, an incoming senior defensive lineman from Cross County High School, located in the eastern Arkansas town of Cherry Valley, announced on his X page Wednesday that he has committed to play at Oklahoma State. He picked the Cowboys over other schools such as Missouri, Ole Miss and North Carolina.

“100% Committed,” Beale wrote on his X page.

Beale (6-foot-4, 300 pounds), considered the No. 1 ranked prospect in Arkansas and the No. 16 ranked defensive lineman by On3, is now the 12th Class of ’26 commit to Oklahoma State, and the lone recruit rated a 4-star. The defensive tackle is considered a key pickup for longtime OSU coach Mike Gundy and new defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, hired in the offseason as part of a staff shakeup by Gundy in the wake of the Cowboys’ 3-9 finish in ’24.

That perhaps was also evident with Gundy posting himself on his X page Wednesday that “It’s a great day to be a Cowboy!”

Last season at Cross County, Beale recorded 52 total tackles, including three for loss, and broke up two passes for the Thunderbirds, who finished 7-4.

Though the Cowboys got a huge boost with Beale’s commitment, they are currently listed seventh in the Big 12 recruiting rankings and 47th nationally by On3. But a few more big-time commits, not to mention an improved on-field product this fall, could boost Oklahoma State’s profile even more.
