The New York Jets already have a very different vibe around their offense entering the 2025 NFL season. Perhaps that's the Justin Fields effect. Let's face it, Fields brings more juice and excitement to MetLife Stadium than the ancient Aaron Rodgers did in 2024.
Visions of Fields connecting with his former Ohio State target, Garrett Wilson, for lots of yards and touchdowns are exciting, but Gang Green is missing a viable complement opposite Wilson to help the offense really take flight.
It's why a recent trade pitch that would reunite Fields with his favorite pro target is so intriguing.
In this proposed deal, the Jets would send the Chicago Bears a third-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft for wide receiver DJ Moore, with whom Fields starred in 2023.

— Dave Kluge (@DaveKluge) August 12, 2023Moore had 96 catches for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns that season.
Moore, 28, was rewarded by the Bears with a massive contract extension at the start of last season. He inked a four-year, $110 million deal, the largest contract Chicago has ever paid to a wideout.
The 2025 NFL draft saw Chicago invest a second-round pick into Missouri star Luther Burden III, which created speculation about Moore's future with the team.
The Jets' current depth chart at wide receiver behind Moore is limited to Josh Reynolds, Allen Lazard, and rookie Arian Smith, none of whom inspire much confidence.
If Moore could be had for a future third-round pick, it would be foolish for GM Darren Mougey to say no. Whether the Bears would be willing to play ball is another story, but if Burden flashes high-end potential this summer, never say never.
