OG Anunoby injury update: Knicks forward gets bad news with hamstring

The New York Knicks are already shorthanded.

They entered Friday night's NBA Cup game down their star point guard, Jalen Brunson, due to injury.

They got some more bad news early on Friday night.

The Knicks announced that OG Anunoby would be out for the remainder of their game against the Miami Heat.

OG Anunoby injury update

Anunoby will miss the remainder of the game with what has been announced as a hamstring injury.

The Knicks announced the news right as the second quarter was beginning.

Having no Brunson or Anunoby really limits some of what the Knicks can do. It pushes Karl-Anthony Towns into a much bigger offensive role.

On the wings, Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart will each have to do a little more to make up for the loss of Anunoby.

It's a long season, and the Knicks will want their stars healthy for the long run, so they likely won't rush Anunoby back from hamstring injuries, which can certainly be tricky.

But in the immediate, it could be tough sledding for New York without Brunson or Anunoby.
