It’s the Ayo Dosunmu show in the Timberwolves’ back court.

The ex-Bulls guard is playing major minutes for this injury-depleted Minnesota team, and the Wolves need everything they can get from him if they want to hold off the Nuggets on Thursday night at Target Center.

Dosunmu has had the ball in his hands a ton since Donte DiVincenzo and Anthony Edwards both went down with injuries in Game 4

In that game, which saw DiVincenzo tear his Achilles minutes into the game and Edwards hyperextend his knee shortly before halftime, Dosunmu scored a career-high 43 points off the bench en route to a Wolves win.

While that could be written off as a fluke, Dosunmu followed that up with another solid performance on Monday night, scoring 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting while playing a team-high 42 minutes.

He’s done it with his usual backcourt mates on the court as well, dropping 25 points before the injuries in Game 3.

Since mid-March, Dosunmu, who was acquired by Minnesota from Chicago before the trade deadline, has been providing a huge scoring punch for the Wolves, averaging 18.3 points in his final 11 regular season games.

He’s playing starter minutes now, and the Wolves don’t have many cleaner paths to creating offense.

Dosunmu should have every chance to stay aggressive as a scorer and top playmaker.

Betting on the NBA?

Without their usual scoring punch, bet on Dosunmu to get going offensively as Minnesota tries to avoid a Game 7 in Denver.

The play: Ayo Dosunmu to score 18 or more points (-125, FanDuel Sportsbook)
