Nuggets' Aaron Gordon gets awful hamstring injury update ahead of Game 7 vs. Thunder

The Denver Nuggets are preparing for Sunday's pivotal Game 7 Western Conference semifinal contest against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

To advance to the third round of the postseason, the organization will need all of its key players to play their respective roles perfectly.

Unfortunately for the Nuggets, there's a good chance they'll have to go to war without their valuable 6-foot-8 forward, Aaron Gordon.

"Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain, and his status is in doubt for Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder," ESPN's Shams Charania wrote Friday.

"Major development heading into Sunday's 3:30 pm ET game on ABC for a Western Conference Finals berth."

Gordon suffered the lower body setback toward the end of Denver's much-needed 119-107 Game 6 victory over the Thunder on Thursday night.

The Arizona product has been a revelation for the Nuggets during their commendable playoff run.

From hitting timely perimeter jumpers to helping Nikola Jokic with defensive rebounding responsibilities, Gordon has delivered when it's mattered most.

The 29-year-old pro averages 16.8 points and 7.3 rebounds in 13 postseason contests, shooting 48.5% from the field and 38.2% from downtown.

With Jokic and Jamal Murray playing high-level basketball at the right time, the Nuggets may be able to hang in long enough to give themselves a shot to steal Game 7 on the road if Gordon is unavailable.

However, there's no doubt that the franchise would miss Gordon's two-way contributions in the biggest game of its 2024-25 campaign.
