The second leg of horse racing's Triple Crown gets underway this weekend, as the 150th running of the Preakness Stakes commences.

Journalism, runner-up at the Kentucky Derby, headlines the field this weekend. Journalism is also favored to win, with 8-5 odds.

Also expected to join Journalism in Baltimore is Derby seventh-place finisher Sandman (4-1), 2025 Hot Springs Stakes winner Clever Again (5-1) and 2025 Fountain of Youth Stakes runner-up River Thames (9-2).

Saturday’s Preakness Stakes will be the final event at the Pimlico Race Course, as the course prepares for a redevelopment project. The Preakness Stakes will return to the upgraded Pimlico Race Course in 2027.

The 150th Preakness will air nationally on NBC for the 24th year. The coverage will feature much of the crew that called the Kentucky Derby, including Mike Tirico, Jerry Bailey, Ahmad Fareed, Randy Moss, Britney Eurton and Donna Brothers, to name a few. 

Steve Kornacki returns for in-depth analysis regarding win probabilities, and Larry Collmus will call the race in real-time. Famed boxing announcer Bruce Buffer is set to give the customary "Riders Up!" call.
