The tennis world has recently been set ablaze by news of Novak Djokovic signing a hefty $13.5 million deal with Netflix for an exclusive documentary that would give fans an inside look into the Serb's life. However, these viral claims are fake, and neither the 24-time Grand Slam champion nor the streaming platform has released any such news.

Djokovic is largely considered to be one of the greatest tennis players of all-time. The 38-year-old is one third of the Big Three and he dominated the men's singles game alongside Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal for two decades.

With many sporting stars releasing documentaries that capture their life and their preparation of the highest stages in recent years, tennis enthusiasts have been hoping to see something similar from Novak Djokovic. Over the last couple of days, several tennis accounts across social media confirmed that the Serb has signed a deal with Netflix for an exclusive documentary, with the former World No.1 getting paid $13.5 million for a seven-episode series.

However, this news is false. Neither Novak Djokovic nor Netflix have provided an announcement or confirmation about any such reports. Moreover, the same news had previously gone viral on social media six months ago, before fizzling out eventually.

With 24 Grand Slam titles, 40 ATP Masters 1000 trophies and 428 weeks ranked No.1 in the world, Novak Djokovic is statistically the most successful singles player of all-time. The Serb also boasts of incredible longevity and at 38 years he is still one of the top competitors of the tennis world.

In a recent appearance on ‘Neuspjeh prvaka’, Djokovic broke down the secret behind his success, saying,

“So, I think maybe the secret of success, not just mine but of top-level athletes, especially in individual sports is that you find a formula that works for you. In my case, because of the circumstances of my upbringing and where I come from, I was simply forced to adapt my entire life to tennis.”

The Serb went on to highlight the importance of where you spend your time, adding,

“When I say 'entire life' I really mean the whole thing. We talked about the teenage years you mentioned, all those outings and so on, I didn't have that, not to mention alcohol. Sure, I did drink and had a few nights when I relaxed a bit, and that's normal. You need to have a way to 'vent'. But 95% of the time, what really matters is how you spend your time.”

On the tennis end of things, Novak Djokovic will kick off his 2026 season with an appearance at the Adelaide International, an ATP 250 event scheduled to take place between January 12 and 17. The Olympic champion will then head to the Australian Open in hunt of his 25th Grand Slam title.
