Nottingham Forest set their sights on £30m Chelsea player

Nottingham Forest have set their sights on Chelsea’s Renato Veiga in the summer transfer window, as the Blues have reportedly made him available for £30m.

According to GiveMeSport, Forest has been scouting Veiga recently to find potential defensive reinforcements for the summer.

Veiga is currently on loan at Juventus and is having an impressive season for the Italian club. Though the 21-year-old has excelled at centre-back, he can also play left-back or defensive midfield.

Despite reports that Enzo Maresca is a fan of Veiga, the Portuguese player may be available for as little as £30m in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Veiga has made 29 appearances in total for Chelsea and Juventus this season and scored 2 goals.

In the process, he was impressed with his ability on the pitch, and his parent club should ideally think twice before selling him.

Why Chelsea should think twice before selling Renato Veiga

Veiga joined the Blues just last summer and signed a seven-year contract with the club before being sent to Juventus on loan in January for the rest of the season.

He was sent to Italy to get valuable first-team experience and in the hope that he would return and find a place in the Chelsea starting eleven.

More importantly, Veiga is only one of the several Chelsea players who have been handed long-term contracts at the club and sent on loan elsewhere in the hope of returning to Stamford Bridge.

If the Blues sell Veiga after just one year, it sends out the wrong message to every player who is out on loan and hopes to make a return to the club.

Selling Veiga after just one year would mean that the club is giving up on the youngster, and Chelsea should seriously consider what kind of message that would be sending out to the other players at the club.
