Chelsea are willing to pay up to £51m for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo during the upcoming summer transfer window, but face competition from Manchester United.

According to a report from Fichajes, they are willing to submit a €60 million offer to sign the 25-year-old Premier League star.

Mbeumo has had an incredible season so far with 18 goals and 6 assists to his name in the Premier League.

Given the kind of form that Mbeumo has been in so far this season, it comes as no surprise that Brentford coach Thomas Frank deemed him ‘unplayable’.

Mbeumo’s form has attracted interest from a number of clubs and the Blues are said to be one of his potential suitors.

However, Chelsea will have to fend off interest from the likes of Manchester United who are also trying to coax the attacker to join them.

How Mbeumo would fit into Chelsea

Bryan Mbeumo would be an astute signing for Chelsea if they manage to prize him away from the Bees. The 25-year-old is versatile enough to operate anywhere across the front three, and he will add goals and creativity to the Chelsea attack.

The Blues have been overly dependent on Cole Palmer this season, and they could use more depth on the side. Mbeumo could share the goal-scoring and the creative burden with Palmer.

The opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in the country will be quite exciting for the player as well. Chelsea could provide him with the platform to compete in the Champions League next season and fight for trophies.

Mbeumo is entering the peak years of his career, and he will want to compete at the highest level.
