Dana White recently explained why he prefers relying on influencers for promotional activities over traditional news media. White claimed that the news media have lost their hold over the general public and don't have widespread support anymore.

It's no secret that high-profile influencers and streamers like the NELK Boys, Adin Ross, N3on, and Nina-Marie Daniele are often seen in attendance at UFC or Power Slap events. Earlier this year, Ross recalled gambling with White and gave the UFC CEO his flowers for saving him from a brutal losing streak.

White notably gifted NELK Boys frontman Kyle Forgeard $250,000 in cash in 2022, an action that drew significant flak from the public. He was also an outspoken critic of the National Hockey League (NHL) for refusing to work with the NELK Boys.

Given White's inclination toward influencers over traditional news media, it's no surprise he prefers using them to promote his professional endeavors. During an interview with Dale Brisby, White explained why influencers often attended Power Slap events and said:

"I've always believed in influencers. I think the media has zero influence anymore. Nobody believes them. Nobody gives a f**k about what they say. They’re completely irrelevant, as far as I'm concerned. The real influence is with these influencers... So I started embracing that... I just invited all the biggest influencers in the world... You let these kids, who are incredibly talented at making content, show up and make content."

When Adin Ross recalled Dana White saving him from a massive gambling loss

Earlier this year, streamer Adin Ross recalled his first meeting with Dana White and revealed how the UFC CEO rescued him from an $800,000 loss.

Ross recalled that he met White for the first time at a blackjack table when he was down $800,000, and claimed that the two wrung it out for five hours till the streamer was up $50,000. In an interview with the NELK Boys, Ross said:

"Okay, so the first time I met Dana White, I'll never forget this, I was down $800,000. All the markers are on the table. Dana sits with me, he's like, 'How you doing, kid? Dana.' I'm sitting there with him, and when I tell you I didn't put any money in, this guy brings me from $800,000 in debt up to, like, $50,000. We were there battling for five hours. He basically gave me $850,000. He saved my debt."
