The 2025 NFL draft will always be memorable for how Shedeur Sanders, a projected first-round selection, went undrafted until the Cleveland Browns picked him in the fifth round.

Many believed that Sanders would be selected by either of the quarterback-needy New Orleans Saints, New York Giants or Pittsburgh Steelers after the Tennessee Titans drafted Cam Ward at No. 1. However, they all went with different quarterbacks.

The Giants were heavily linked with the former Colorado Buffaloes star in the lead-up to the draft, but traded up in the first round to choose Jaxson Dart.

Ironically, Dart recently revealed that one of the quarterbacks he likes is Shedeur Sanders. When asked to name any current or previous players he admires, the former Ole Miss standout mentioned Sanders.

Hall of Famer Brett Favre was the first player Dart named. He mentioned Sanders next, which startled the interviewer, Kieran Hickey-Semple.

"Oh wow, OK. Is that a little glaze?" Hickey-Sample asked on Saturday, via Overtime. "No, no glaze," Dart said. “It's love.”

Dart added more names to his list, including Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills, Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles and NFL legend Tom Brady.

Dart naming Sanders was unexpected given the recent draft shock, Sanders not playing an NFL snap yet and his chances of starting up in the air.

Jaxson Dart and Shedeur Sanders are both competing in crowded QB rooms

Jaxson Dart and Shedeur Sanders want to make an impression on their coaches during offseason workouts ahead of the 2025 season. They are both in packed quarterback rooms in their first NFL summer.

Sanders is battling with fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel and veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett with the Browns. Meanwhile, Dart is competing with Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Tommy DeVito in New York.

Dart will likely see action at point some point next season, even though Giants coach Brian Daboll has said that Wilson would be the starter. Next season could be Daboll's last chance with New York, and the performance of its quarterbacks could determine whether he retains his position or not.

When Dart will officially kick-start his professional career is unclear, but a lot of it may depend on Wilson's performance. It all begins at minicamp next week.
