AEW star MVP slammed WWE for not giving a proper farewell to a former Intercontinental Champion. Montel is currently managing the Hurt Syndicate, entailing Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. While MVP and Bobby's contracts with WWE expired in 2024, Shelton was released from the promotion in 2023. The Hurt Syndicate has been one of the best AEW tag teams on the show right now. The two stars ever reigned as tag team champions for a few months in 2025.

MVP has always been vocal about how WWE fumbled the Hurt Business' run. He believes WWE could have done so much with the faction, but it was disbanded without any logical explanation. Recently, the 52-year-old star discussed Shelton Benjamin's WWE tenure. The latter worked in the global sports entertainment juggernaut for over a decade. Many believed his potential remained untapped.

While speaking on Q101, MVP said he was appalled to see them release an experienced star like Shelton without offering any other backstage job.

[WWE] released Shelton [Benjamin] with no fanfare, no goodbyes, not even an offer to be a trainer. They were just, ‘All right, you’re gone.’ How would you not offer a trainer’s gig to Shelton Benjamin?” he said. [H/T - TJR Wrestling]

MVP compares Triple H and Tony Khan

Montel has worked under Tony Khan and Triple H in the past few years. He recently explained how the two leaders are different.

While speaking on Q101, MPV said the AEW President invites input during creative discussions, whereas, on the contrary, the WWE CCO doesn't welcome any suggestions, except for a few.

With Tony, he might say, ‘This is what I want,’ and you can say, ‘Okay, Tony, but what if we put this on it?’ And Tony invites that input. Whereas with that guy [Triple H], there’s only a handful of people I’d say are allowed to have that kind of input,” he said.

It remains to be seen when the Hurt Syndicate will return to the squared circle, as they haven't been seen for almost a month.
