Sports analyst Stephen A. Smith has been in the news after former co-host Cari Champion accused him of calling her out and American sports writer Jemele Hill.

Champion accused him of calling her out in the wake of controversial comments from Michelle Beadle last week. Beadle had criticized her former ESPN colleague, Smith, over his association with a mobile app, Solitaire Cash.

Smith lashed out at Champion in an episode of his "Straight shooter" podcast on Monday. Fellow analyst, Jason Whitlock shared a clip from the episode, questioning Smith's friends.

"Stephen A has no clue who his friends are," Whitlock wrote on X. "These feminists ain’t loyal! Regardless of color. There is no feminist rooting for any man. Cari Champion is a wannabe Woman King. It’s not in her nature to help any man she can’t control."

Stephen A. Smith ripped former colleague Michelle Beadle following "downfall" comments

Stephen A. Smith's former colleague, Michelle Beadle, called out the veteran analyst for endorsing a mobile app that is the subject of ongoing legal action over cheating allegations.

"Honestly, I’m not a religious person, but I pray for the downfall,” Beadle said. “It’s gross, man, you gotta have principles in this thing."

Smith fired back at Beadle on his Sirius XM show on Friday.

“You got some people that were in this business, and they talk smack now cause they can’t get a job in the business cause they didn’t do a good enough job when they were in the business ... and their reputation is they’re talking to people,” Smith said. “Well, what you got going on? It’s all of that that comes with it, because somewhere along the way, they didn’t do what it took to resonate continuously. And that’s why they’re on the outside looking in … they don’t have a job in the industry. Don’t think they don’t want one. They do. They just didn’t know how to act, and they didn’t know how to be productive enough to keep a job.”

Smith, who has two shows for SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio channel, replaced Beadle’s show on Sept. 2.
