Nikola Jokic 'Joker' suit: Nuggets star lives up to nickname with supervillain outfit ahead of Game 3 vs. Thunder

Everything is elevated in the playoffs. Wins feel better, losses hurt more, and everything in between is magnified — even the players' outfits.

The second-round matchup between the Thunder and the Nuggets is tied 1-1 and heads to Denver for Game 3. The Nuggets need a spark. Yes, the series is tied, but Denver got absolutely embarrassed in Game 2. Oklahoma City bounced back from a Game 1 loss with a dominant 149-106 win that ranked tied for 15th for the widest margins of victory in NBA playoff history. 

Denver has had a rollercoaster season, putting even more pressure on star Nikola Jokic, who has been shown yelling at his teammates in huddles and almost acting as a pseudo-coach. With the series coming home to Denver, Jokic knows that two wins on his home court would be huge for the series. As such, he showed up for Game 3 with an iconic look that suggests a notable performance is on the way.

Nikola Jokic 'Joker' suit

Jokic has long been given the nickname "Joker." Ironically, the nickname started because former Nugget Mike Miller struggled to pronounce Jokic correctly, so he ended up giving the big man the nickname "Joker." 

In comic book lore, the Joker is the counter to Batman. He's known for his clown makeup, iconic laugh, and trademark look — purple suit jacket and pants with either a yellow shirt or green vest underneath. 

Jokic, knowing how big of a game this is and that he needs to play a big role in it, decided to channel his nickname with his outfit. You could argue that it's not 100% loyal to the source material, but try telling him that.
