Aryna Sabalenka and Nick Kyrgios will star in the latest installment of the Battle of the Sexes. It will take place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
This will be the fourth noteworthy edition of the series based on the coverage it has gotten so far. Bobby Riggs beat Margaret Court in May 1973 in the first one, and Billie Jean King stepped up to avenge that loss for women by beating Riggs in September 1973.
Martina Navratilova and Jimmy Connors went head-to-head nearly two decades later. The latter came out on top in straight sets. Sabalenka will aim to follow in King's footsteps with a win.
The rules are tweaked slightly for Sabalenka and Kyrgios' contest. Each player will only have their first serve to rely on, as second serves are done away with. The court size on Sabalenka's side will be nine percent smaller as well. This has been done keeping in mind the speed differences between men and women.
Other than that, this will be a usual best-of-three sets contest, with a 10 point match tie-break to decide the outcome if needed. Sabalenka and Kyrgios are both incredible players, so this contest will be entertaining to watch at the very least.

Kyrgios' comeback came to a grinding halt on account of his recurring injuries. He returned to the tour in January after missing the last two years due to surgeries. After a handful of matches, he chose to give his body a rest after yet another injury setback. He contested a few exhibition matches in December and made it through them without any wear and tear.
Sabalenka is one of the hardest-hitters on the women's tour, so it will be interesting to see her going toe-to-toe with Kyrgios. The latter can't expect any slow puffballs coming his way. Even with the one-serve handicap in place for both players, the Aussie is clearly the better server.
If Sabalenka is able to make any inroads on Kyrgios' serve, then she certainly is in the mix for a win. For Kyrgios, the biggest obstacle will be the smaller court size on his opponent's side. He will need some time to adjust to the new court dimensions, which could give Sabalenka enough leeway to make her move.
Sabalenka's stamina will be tested, especially if the match goes to three sets. The Belarusian's success over the past few years indicates that she won't go down without a fight. Nevertheless, Kyrgios is still the favorite to win this contest.
Pick: Nick Kyrgios to win in three sets.
