The Houston Texans received some concerning news regarding running back Nick Chubb ahead of their Week 15 showdown against the Arizona Cardinals. He suffered a rib injury, sidelining him early during last week's 20-10 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
This resulted in him missing out on Wednesday and Thursday's practice sessions with the Texans. However, Nick Chubb was a limited participant on Friday. But according to NFL insider Adam Schefter, he might not be a part of the team's game plan in Week 15.
"Texans RB Nick Chubb, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a rib injury, is not expected to play vs. the Cardinals, per source," Adam Schefter tweeted.•

Chubb began his NFL career with the Cleveland Browns in 2018. He spent seven seasons with them and recorded 6,843 yards and 51 TDs rushing, along with 1,042 yards and five TDs receiving.
He became a free agent after the 2024 season, after the end of his three-year $36.6 million contract with the Browns. In June, the Texans signed Chubb to a one-year deal worth $2.5 million.
So far in 13 games, the four-time Pro Bowl running back has tallied 472 yards and three touchdowns rushing. The Texans are currently second in the AFC South with an 8-5 record and a five-game winning streak.
Who will the Texans play in place of Nick Chubb in Week 15?
With the expected absence of Nick Chubb, the Houston Texans will rely on rookie running back Woody Marks in the backfield.
Coach DeMeco Ryans and his team drafted Woody Marks with the 116th pick in this year's NFL draft. So far, he has played in all 13 games with five starts while recording 554 yards and two touchdowns rushing. During last week's victory against the Kansas City Chiefs, Mark had 68 rushing yards with no touchdowns.
The Texans also have the option to elevate 2024 sixth-round pick Jawhar Johnson to the active roster. According to reporter Nick Schwager, this would be a good opportunity to give him the opportunity to prove his worth while letting Chubb make a complete recovery.
"Would not mind seeing Jawhard Jordan get some reps tomorrow after Woody Marks... Let Nick Chubb rest and be healthy for the playoff push," Schwager tweeted. The Texans vs Cardinals showdown is scheduled to be played on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
