The Denver Broncos will open the 2025 NFL season at home against the Tennessee Titans. NFL insider Jordan Schultz broke that news late Tuesday night.
The game will be played at Empower Field on Sunday, September 7 with a planned kickoff time of 2:05 pm MST. It will feature Bo Nix against the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, Cam Ward. The Titans finished with an NFL-worst 3-14 record last season.
The full schedule for the 2025 season will be unveiled on Wednesday night, but the Broncos' schedule is starting to take shape, as three games are already known.
Week 1: vs. Tennessee
Week 6: at New York Jets (in London)
Week 17: at Kansas City (Christmas night)
The Titans lead the all-time series against the Broncos, which includes their time as the Houston Oilers, 25-18-1. The two teams met in the season opener of the 2020 season, with the Titans getting a 16-14 win over the Broncos in Denver,.
The Broncos have not beaten the Titans since shutting them out 16-0 in October 2019.
Ward, selected with the first pick in the draft, is expected to be the Titans' starting quarterback this season, which would make the Week 1 game his first official start as a professional. Last season, Nix became the first rookie to open the season as the Broncos' starting quarterback since John Elway in 1983.
We will have full analysis for the entire schedule for the Broncos once it becomes official.
