Arkansas' Boogie Fland linked to surging SEC powerhouse through agent ties

The NBA Draft Combine is underway, and several of college basketball’s top players are receiving feedback from NBA scouts to determine whether they should return to school for another year or keep their names in the draft. Some have already made their decisions, either to stay in the draft or to head back to college.

Arkansas’ Boogie Fland has opted to return to college, but he won’t be heading back to Fayetteville to play for John Calipari and the Razorbacks. He now has a decision to make — one that could come sooner rather than later. However, in this NIL era, it’s hard to predict what move he’ll make. His early withdrawal from the draft could be a sign that the writing was on the wall.

“Miller represents Fland and must have heard enough feedback from NBA scouts to realize the writing was on the wall: Fland would be better off making another year of NIL money than testing his salt in the NBA,” Nick Roush wrote.

Roush is referring to Mike Miller, a former NBA player who now represents Fland. If Fland is drawing from Miller’s own past, all signs could be pointing to the Florida Gators.

“Mike Miller went to Florida. Mike Miller reps Boogie Fland. Florida needs guard. Just sayin’,” Jeff Goodman posted.

If Miller has influence in the decision, Fland will definitely take a look at the defending national champions. In fact, it’s rumored that Florida already had an NIL deal lined up for him before he withdrew from the draft.

“If the star point guard decides to return to college, Florida may already have sunk their claws into him. And the price tag, according to Bo Mattingly of The Chuck & Bo Show, could top out at around $7 million,” Austin Farmer wrote.

While there’s no confirmed destination for Fland just yet, Florida appears to be a strong contender — potentially thanks in large part to his agent’s ties to the program.
