No team acted more boldly on Day 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft than the Jacksonville Jaguars, and so far, the reaction from fans in Duval County and beyond is palpable.
The Jaguars recently introduced Hunter and unveiled his sparkling new jersey at their team facility, and fans have been flocking to the virtual Pro Shop shelves to get their hands on one ever since.

Per Shanna McCarriston of CBS Sports, Hunter’s jersey sales currently top all rookie draft picks from last weekend’s NFL Draft, most notably besting quarterbacks Cam Ward of the Titans, Shedeur Sanders of the Browns and Jaxson Dart of the Giants.

The Jaguars are all in on Hunter, who will open his pro career in Jacksonville as a wide receiver while also learning a specific role on defense as a cornerback, head coach Liam Coen told reporters. The team parted ways with a high second-round pick this year as well as next year’s first-rounder to move up three spots with the Cleveland Browns for Hunter, so the franchise has to be loving the reaction from their fans so far.
Jacksonville passed on adding big-name weapons for Coen’s offense in free agency despite cutting ties with both Christian Kirk and Evan Engram. That changed quickly on draft weekend, with the dynamic Hunter slotting in alongside Brian Thomas Jr. for what could now be a weekly fireworks display. The team also added the fastest running back from the NFL Scouting Combine in Bhayshul Tuten early in Round 4.

After a dismal 2024 campaign that wound up running coach Doug Pederson and GM Trent Baalke out of town, the Jaguars are winning the offseason so far, at least in terms of creating buzz and intriguing around the team.
