Scott Hanson, the host of the NFL RedZone channel, posted an exciting update on Sunday morning. The moment we’ve all been waiting for was emphasized by the 54-year-old:

— Scott Hanson (@ScottHanson) June 29, 2025Hanson has been with NFL Network since 2006, and NFL RedZone has been operated by the network since 2009. The Sunday broadcast shows all the touchdowns from every game from 1:00 p.m. ET until the end of the second window, which typically concludes around 8:00 p.m. ET.
That puts the first NFL Sunday on September 7. The season kicks off on Thursday Night Football, with the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles hosting their divisional rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. The very next night, the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers will face off in Brazil.
When Sunday games begin in Week 1, there will be eight games during the early window, each scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Then, four games are slated for the second window, two starting at 3:05 p.m. ET and two more kicking off 20 minutes later.
The Sunday Night Football matchup for Week 1 features the Baltimore Ravens on the road against the Buffalo Bills. Note: this game is not part of NFL RedZone programming. Finally, to wrap up Week 1, the Minnesota Vikings will travel to Chicago to take on the Bears.
Before you know it, the pigskin will be flying, and our Sundays will be full of football once again.
