NFL insider thinks big-time talent is dropping to Chiefs image

There will be a new player in the Kansas City Chiefs organization on Thursday night unless the franchise opts to trade out of the first round of the National Football League Draft.

Kansas City currently has the No. 31 pick in the draft after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl this past fall. There have been rumors about the Chiefs possibly trading up in the draft and we will obviously find out about that on Thursday. We'll be able to see if there was any merit to that chatter or if it was just a smokescreen.

It's going to be a big night no matter what happens and the Chiefs' biggest hole clearly right now is the offensive line.

We'll see if the Chiefs make any pickups on Thursday to help with this. NFL.com's NFL Draft expert Daniel Jeremiah thinks they will and predicted that Oregon offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr. will end up dropping into the team's lap at No. 31 in his final mock draft.

"No. 31: Kansas City Chiefs - Josh Conerly Jr., Oregon, OT, Junior," Jeremiah said. "It feels like the Chiefs will be taking the best available offensive tackle, even after signing Jaylon Moore. Their tackle play has cost them in both of their Super Bowl losses during the Patrick Mahomes era. They continue to invest at the position."

The Chiefs are still loaded on both sides of the ball. The offensive line gave the team some troubles during the season, though, and now it's even thinner after trading Joe Thuney away. Will the Chiefs find an answer on Thursday night?
