The Los Angeles Rams possess the No. 13 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Rams have a chance to select a game-changer, regardless of the position. This year's draft class is loaded with talent, and while it appears they could do no wrong, ESPN NFL insider Peter Schrager believes USC star wide receiver Makai Lemon is the clear and obvious choice.
In his appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Schrager detailed why he believes Lemon and the Rams are a perfect fit for each other.
“Makai Lemon is everything Les Snead, Sean McVay and wide receivers coach Eric Yarber love,” Schrager said. “He is tough as nails, he has never met a center of the field that he doesn’t like. One of these guys that is absolutely a dog. Makai Lemon would be the perfect addition to that offense, and I just know what McVay looks for, it's toughness, it's grittiness, and it's a guy who can make plays in traffic."
Makai Lemon Could Provide Immediate Impact for Rams
The Rams could certainly select another dynamic pass catcher with their first-round pick. Lemon would be a great addition, as he would help McVay's offense become more versatile, with his ability to line up outside and in the slot.
On top of that, Lemon brings toughness and physicality, a trait that McVay would love to have with his wide receivers. Lemon offers a ton of tools that would help the Rams and himself thrive right out of the gate.
“To me, Makai Lemon to the Rams makes a ton of sense, especially if we’re going all-in and we’re pushing all our chips to the middle of the table and we’re saying, ‘Let’s go win this one for Stafford,’” Schrager added.
The Rams could certainly select a wide receiver with their first-round pick. Still, the possibility of selecting an offensive lineman or a defensive back also stands.
