Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hung out in a suite at Yankee Stadium on Sunday as the New York Yankees hosted the Miami Marlins.
The House of Representatives member watched the Yanks blow a lead late to lose 7-6.
Fans shared photos they took with AOC during the game on social media, while others critiqued her attendance amid a government shutdown that has lasted for more than a month.
The New York Post reported that Ocasio-Cortez continues to be paid as part of her $174,000 annual salary while many federal staffers go without pay during the shutdown.
Ocasio-Cortez is a known Yankees fan. A story in the Washington Post in 2019 notes that she's a "diehard fan" of the Yanks despite the Mets actually being the team that falls within her district.

She grew up in New York City, and having been born in 1989, AOC would've been just learning about baseball when the Yankees were a dynasty with the likes of Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera.
Ocasio-Cortez has represented New York's 14th district in the House since January 2019.
She attended Boston University for college, and she worked on Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign in 2016.
AOC was a surprise challenger for the House seat she eventually won, and she has made notable appearances politically, including at the Democratic National Convention in 2024.
And on Sunday, she stopped by the Bronx to watch the Yankees, although they ruined the day a bit by losing to the lowly Marlins with a bad blown lead.
