New York Yankees trade pitch sends Anthony Volpe to NL, and he’d still have a chance to win a World Series

Opening Day is just a day away, and the New York Yankees will be without Anthony Volpe as he works back from his injury. Some, however, would like to see Volpe not play for the Yankees ever again.

The Yankees viewed Volpe as a big piece of their roster, but he’s struggled a ton. When a player gets as much hype early on as Volpe, it isn’t easy to do what’s needed.

FanSided’s Mark Powell pitched a trade where a change of scenery could benefit both sides, proposing a deal with the Atlanta Braves.

“There are plenty of teams that might take a chance on Volpe. Not everyone can achieve greatness in New York City, especially not when they're anointed before reaching the big leagues. The Atlanta Braves make a lot of sense as a possible landing spot. Mauricio Dubon is their starting shortstop. Ozzie Albies, fresh off an impressive World Baseball Classic, will hit free agency in the next couple of years,” he wrote.

For someone like Volpe, having a chance to play and not feel as much pressure as playing in the Bronx could go a long way. Atlanta still expects to win, and so does its fanbase, but the pressure is just different.

The Yankees should’ve traded Volpe when they had a chance, as they’re now in a spot to not get much back for him.
