The New York Knicks received a huge boost ahead of their Christmas Day encounter against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday. Franchise's poster boy and point guard, Jalen Brunson, was taken off the injury report after he missed the previous game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday.

Brunson, who has played inspirational basketball this season and guided the Knicks to the NBA Cup glory, missed the Timberwolves game due to right ankle injury management. New York felt his absence and sustained a 115-104 loss on the road. Last time Brunson suited up, he dropped 47 points and eight assists on the Miami Heat.

The Knicks will also be bolstered with the return of OG Anunoby, who missed the previous game with left ankle soreness. The versatile wing has played a huge role in the Knicks' success by being the best two-way player on the roster. His presence would be important as the Knicks go up against an explosive backcourt of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland.

Meanwhile, Guerschon Yabusele's status was upgraded to questionable after Wednesday's practice. The French star has missed the previous two encounters owing to illness.

Miles McBride and Landry Shamet will continue to remain sidelined owing to their respective injuries. McBride is dealing with a left ankle sprain, while Shamet is recovering from a right shoulder injury. The Knicks, meanwhile, are second in the Eastern Conference standings with a 20-9 record.
