Jac Caglianone made a name for himself as a high school baseball player in Florida. During his junior year, he was named MLB Network/SiriusXM Two-Way Player of the year.
He would go on to play at the University of Florida, further making a name for himself. He helped his team reach the College World Series in 2023 and 2024.
During the 2024 MLB Draft, Caglianone established himself as a top draft prospect and caught the attention of the Kansas City Royals. They picked the slugger with the sixth overall pick.

New Kaufman Stadium dimensions could unlock a Jac Caglianone explosion
Caglianone would go on to make his MLB debut last season. He certainly had some struggles, and a hamstring injury in July did not help his cause.
However, he is coming into the 2026 season with something to prove. He is looking to prove his first-round worth to his club.
Caglinaone, being a left-handed hitter, will likely serve in a platoon role this season. He and Lane Thomas will likely be flip-flopping depending on the opposing pitcher.
He should get plenty of at-bats and will have plenty of chances to hit home runs. If you have not heard yet, Kauffman Stadium has brought in its outfield by 10 feet in left-center and right-center and dropped the walls 1.5 feet.
With this, ESPN's Tristan H. Cockcroft tags him as someone that fantasy owners will want to circle.
"It's easy to forget how lofty scouts' projections were for this prospect ahead of his batting just .157 in his first taste of the majors -- the 13th-worst mark by a modern-day rookie with at least as many as his 232 plate appearances. However, Caglianone's raw power potential remains monstrous. The Royals' decision to bring in and lower the outfield fences at Kauffman Stadium will certainly boost his breakout prospects, while his first spring and WBC homers traveled a combined 863 feet."
With a full season to prepare for his big-league role and what he had done across the World Baseball Classic, he could be an excellent late-round option for fantasy owners.
