Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spinner Rahul Chahar picked between Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer as captains in a fun 'This or That' exercise (via CricTracker Instagram handle). The 26-year-old went with the former, stating that he has played under Rohit more.

Both Rohit and Iyer are IPL-winning captains. Rohit led the Mumbai Indians to five titles between 2013 and 2023, while Iyer guided the Kolkata Knight Riders to victory in 2024.

Iyer also took Punjab Kings to a runners-up finish in 2025 after several years without playoff appearances. Rohit has 87 wins in 158 matches, while Iyer has 48 wins in 87 games.

Meanwhile, Chahar played for MI under Rohit from 2019 to 2021, helping the franchise win back-to-back titles in his first two years.

The leggie also chose MI over PBKS as his favorite franchise, pointing to his two titles with the former as the reason. Chahar played for PBKS from 2022 to 2024, but the side failed to qualify for the playoffs in all three seasons.

The veteran IPL star also chose the big-hitting Nicholas Pooran as the one batter he would love to dismiss.

Rahul Chahar picked between his current and former franchises, CSK and MI, for the one with a louder fanbase. After some deliberation, the 26-year-old went with the former. Both CSK and MI hold the joint record for most IPL titles with five.

The Men in Yellow signed Chahar for ₹5.2 crore in the recent IPL 2026 auction after he initially went unsold. CSK have been on a downward slide over the last two IPL seasons, missing the playoffs in 2024 and finishing at the bottom of the standings this year.

The leg-spinner endured a torrid season with SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2025, playing only one game and going wicketless.

Chahar boasts an impressive overall IPL record with 75 wickets in 79 matches at an average of 28.66 and an economy of 7.72.
