Brooklyn Nets center Nic Claxton continues to be mentioned in trade rumors, but he isn't bothered by the reports.

Claxton told the New York Post's Brian Lewis that the rumors are just part of the business.

"I've almost been traded before," Claxton said. "That's for my agents to take care of. I'm just here as long as I'm here."

Claxton is having a strong season, averaging 12.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and four assists in 40 games. He's shooting 58.3% from the field and posting 1.4 blocks per night.

He has spent his entire seven-year career with the Nets, who drafted him No. 31 overall in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Claxton has been an important piece for Brooklyn this season, averaging 29.6 minutes per game. He had a season-high 21 points and eight rebounds Nov. 11 against the Toronto Raptors.

Claxton, 26, would command a strong market if he is traded. He has averaged 10+ points and 7+ rebounds in four straight seasons. The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors reportedly are two teams eyeing him.

He has a good relationship with General Manager Sean Marks, stating Marks lets players know if they are close to being traded.

"He has an open-door policy," Claxton said. "You can always go talk to him whenever you want."

He is one of several Nets who have been mentioned in trade talks before February's deadline. Michael Porter Jr. and Cam Thomas are two other players who may be traded from Brooklyn.

The Nets (12-30) return to action Sunday night against the Los Angeles Clippers.
