Nelly Korda’s older sister, Jessica Korda, will make her long-awaited return to competitive golf at the Grant Thornton Invitational, marking her first start since May 2023. The six-time LPGA Tour winner will team up with Bud Cauley in the mixed event at Tiburon Golf Club from December 12-14.

Korda stepped away from the game after the 2023 season. She married her longtime partner, Johnny DelPrete in December 2021 and the couple welcomed their son, Grayson, in February 2024. Under the LPGA Tour’s maternity policy, players have up to two years to return allowing Korda to resume her career in 2025.

Speaking to SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio, Korda opened up about juggling her training with motherhood as she prepares for her comeback. (0.38 onwards)

“I currently practice like three four times a week. I have a sitter that watches Grayson for five-ish hours so in those three four times a week I actually have to get my workout in and golf in and then be back take a quick shower and we're you know ready for round two post-nap. So it's a little hectic.”

She admitted that being away from her son during practice can be difficult calling it the familiar “push and pull” that many parents feel. Still she said she finds peace on the golf course and enjoys every moment she gets to play.

Meanwhile, her sister Nelly Korda will also be in the field, paired with Denny McCarthy. Defending champions Patty Tavatanakit and Jake Knapp are set to compete as well.

When Jessica Korda interviewed her sister Nelly Korda on course

Earlier this year, Jessica Korda took on a different role when she joined the Golf Channel team as an on-course reporter during the first round of the Amundi Evian Championship. It was her first time working with the network, and she got the chance to interview her sister, Nelly Korda, as she walked the course.

After the round, Jessica asked,

"I was to ask as well if it makes you nervous that I'm commentating on your group. You did almost hit me a couple times when you missed fairways today,” Jessica said to Nelly after the round.

The World No. 2 laughed and replied,

"Maybe you should have stayed in the fairway and I would've hit you.”

She added that having her sister inside the ropes felt like “a little comfort blanket.” At the time, Jessica was still away from competition due to her back injury and maternity break. Nelly Korda, meanwhile, has gone winless so far in 2025 despite a seven-win 2024 season. Her last start came at the LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei, where she finished tied for fourth.
