They earned their places in the 14-member semifinalists list, which was compiled by the AVCA Division I Women’s Volleyball Awards Committee.

The 2025 AVCA Division I National Player of the Year, presented by Nike Volleyball, will be held on Friday, December 19, at the AVCA Awards Banquet in Kansas City. Along with the three Nebraska Volleyball players, other elite volleyball players have also earned spots in the list, including Olivia Babcock. Murray, Jackson, and Reilly have shown impressive performance throughout the year to maintain an undefeated streak so far.

Murray has surpassed 1000 career kills in October. In the faceoff against Purdue, the junior Husker recorded a scintillating .640 hitting percentage with 16 kills. The junior middle blocker, Jackson, has been consistently showing remarkable performance this season with a high number of kills. She recorded nine kills against Maryland, 12 against Purdue, and had a perfect nine kills on nine swings on November 7.

Along with Nebraska Volleyball's Murray, Reilly has also earned a place in the East vs. West All-Star Game roster due to her stunning performance this season. She is on her journey to record career-highs in both kills per set and hitting percentage. She recorded 38 assists, eight digs, four blocks, and three kills in a faceoff against Wisconsin. It also marked the highest hitting percentage allowed by the latter team at their home arena since 2012.

The final list of the 2025 AVCA Division I National Player of the Year honor will be released on December 15.

Nebraska Volleyball's coach Dani Busboom Kelly opens up on her team's approach for upcoming matches this season

Nebraska Volleyball's coach Dani Busboom Kelly joined the program in January 2025 and has led the team to an incredible season in her first year as a coach. She replaced the legendary coach John Cook, who guided the team for 25 years. In a recent interview, Busboom Kelly reflected on the team's dominating streak and highlighted the plan for upcoming matches. She stated that while the Huskers were previously known for their defensive skills, they are now building a strong attacking group.

"Nebraska has always been great defensively and sometimes hasn’t put up offensive numbers," she said. “This year, we’re really putting up really high offensive numbers as well. It’s just the attention to detail and the awareness that we’re going to be great on both sides. We’re not going to rely on one or the other to win games.” (via dailynebraskan.com)

Nebraska Volleyball will next compete against Minnesota on Saturday, November 8.
